Summer Festival Fashion for Dogs: Light & Breathable Ethnic Wear
Share
Indian summers are hot — but that doesn’t mean your dog has to skip the celebrations.
Many dog parents assume festive outfits must be heavy and uncomfortable for summer events. Not at Petaloons. Here’s our guide to keeping your dog cool, comfortable, and beautifully dressed through every summer festival.
🌡️ Why Fabric Choice Matters in Summer
Dog clothing in Indian summers must balance three things: breathability (air circulation), weight (light fabrics don’t trap heat), and coverage (some UV protection benefits short-coated breeds). Our summer-appropriate outfits are made in cotton-blend and lightweight silk fabrics that achieve all three.
☀️ Pick #1: Light Cream Sherwani with Golden Embroidery

Our Light Cream Sherwani is crafted in a lightweight cotton-silk blend — the lightest in our sherwani range. The cream base keeps heat absorption low while the golden embroidery maintains the festive look. Perfect for summer weddings and Akshaya Tritiya celebrations. Shop Light Cream Sherwani → |

💧 Summer Outfit Care Tips
- Always check the fabric feels cool to touch before dressing your dog in summer
- Limit wearing time to 2–3 hours maximum in temperatures above 35°C
- Offer water breaks every 30 minutes during outdoor events
- Watch for panting, drooling, or restlessness — signs your dog needs a break
- After events, hand-wash and air dry to preserve embroidery
The AKC’s guide to keeping dogs cool in summer recommends limiting outdoor activity during peak heat hours (11am–3pm) even for fully hydrated dogs.
